Anxiety

There is stress, and then there is anxiety.
Relevant portion of today's email: been in Mosul a month now...
News: gunman opens fire on US troops, killing 4 in Mosul, injuring 6, at a shared security post
Predeployment conversation: "we'll be patrolling and working with the Iraqi police."

Anxiety: waiting to know who those casualties are, knowing that it's bad news for anyone, but deperately hoping one of them is not my brother.
